7 Biblical Keys for Maintaining Divine Speed

Do you need divine speed or have you received divine speed and are looking for keys on maintaining the momentum? In this post, I share biblical keys for maintaining divine speed.

It is not just enough to receive divine speed, we must be able to maintain it. Receiving divine speed is like when someone discovers gold, you don’t discover gold and go to sleep.

When you discover gold, you conduct research and ask questions that will help you realize the full value of the gold.

And you will follow all recommendations to the letter just to get maximum value.

If we would go through all that for gold that the bible says perishes (1 Peter 1:7), how much more for divine speed.

Divine speed can accelerate you into unprecedented greatness.

As established in the previous post, the secret of divine speed is the hand of God upon a person’s life.

Before we dive deeper into the keys for maintaining divine speed, let’s review what divine speed is. The definition is by no means exhaustive, so feel free to come up with your own definition.

What is Divine Speed?

Divine speed is speed granted to you by a higher power in this case God.

It is a power of accomplishment given to you over and above what your natural power can accomplish in a specific timeframe. The giver of this power of accomplishment and supernatural speed is God.

For example, what would normally take five or ten years to accomplish could be accomplished in a year.

When God grants a person divine speed, all that they have lost can be restored in a jiffy. As was the case with Joseph in Genesis 41.

Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. Gen 41:40-41

7 Biblical keys for maintaining divine speed

Joseph Experienced Divine Speed

The Joseph referenced here is the eleventh son of Jacob. We may have heard the story of Joseph and how he was hated by his brothers and sold into slavery. And how he was accused of attempted rape, and imprisoned for an offense he didn’t commit.

But when the time came for God to elevate him, he experienced divine speed.

God elevated him in such a short time frame that he became Egypt’s prime minister the same day he came out of prison.

And in a single day he regained his dignity, his good name, freedom, and benefits.

His status changed from prisoner to prime minister, he received a wife without paying dowry, and he was comforted.

Without a doubt, he would have also received a royal accommodation and servants to go with it.

Best of all, he didn’t struggle or beg to have any of those things.

That could only have been God’s doing, for an accused rapist, foreigner, and prisoner to be made second in command to the king. The king didn’t even bother to investigate the allegations leveraged against Joseph. He received instant pardon and elevation.

Divine speed meant he got all those things without struggle or natural strength, and  within a short time frame.

But the question now arises, how do we maintain divine speed?

Divine speed is good because it makes us have a good reward for our labor. We work less and receive more reward. So there has to be a way to maintain it.

We will pick pointers on how to maintain divine speed from the lives of those who obtained divine speed in the Bible.

After receiving divine speed, it is crucial to sustain the momentum. #divinespeed #divineacceleration #bloggerstribe #teacupclub Click To Tweet

7 Keys for Maintaining Divine Speed in the Bible

1. Remain Humble: God resists the proud and gives more grace to the humble. James 4:6. If we look at the life of Joseph, we will see that he remained humble despite his exalted position. He wasn’t quick to advertise his rank to his brothers when they first came to buy food in Egypt.

18 Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18 (ESV)

2. Be Fearless: If we look at the life of Joseph, we will see that he didn’t have the experience of preserving food for a long period of years. And he had just come out of prison, yet he fearlessly accepted the king’s task.

The scripture has rightly stated that fear has torments (1 John 4:18).

In order to maintain divine speed, you must remain fearless and focused on the God who called you and is working through you.

3. Be Fully Trusting in God: This is another biblical key for maintaining divine speed, you have to continue trusting in God. Don’t give room to doubt. For as long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he walked on water, but the moment he doubted, he began to sink.

29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:29-31 (ESV)

You may be scared but reject it, trust God instead.

4. Be Obedient: Another biblical key for maintaining divine speed is obedience. God’s hand was on king Saul and the Bible records that he was a head taller than all the Israelites.

2 Kish had a son named Saul, as handsome a young man as could be found anywhere in Israel, and he was a head taller than anyone else. 1 Samuel 9:2 (NIV)

Which means God’s hands had been on him from the onset. And at the appointed time God showed him forth as the king. It was God’s plan that he will be king and his generations after him but he foiled it with disobedience. (1 Samuel 13:13)

And the kingdom was taken from him and given to David and his descendants.

If only Saul had been obedient, the kingship would have remained with him and his descendants. He received favor and was granted divine speed and he lost it.

By all ramifications his tribe and family were not anywhere close to being a leader in Israel because his tribe was the least. He was of the tribe of Benjamin, Jacob’s last son. There were eleven other tribes before his, but God granted him divine speed and elevation, yet he lost it.

… To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22 (NIV)

5. Remain Faithful: The fifth biblical key for maintaining divine speed is to remain faithful and committed to God. Any child of God that maintained divine speed had the characteristics of being faithful. Joseph was faithful in everything his hands found to do, and even when he became prime minister in Egypt, he didn’t stop.

Here’s how God reacts to faithfulness;

25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, Psalms 18:25 (NIV)

When you are faithful, God will remain committed to ensuring that you continue to move at divine speed.

6. Avoid Sin: After God has granted you divine speed, one thing you need to do to maintain it is to avoid sin. Avoid sin like a plague and as if your life depended on it because some opportunities once missed cannot be regained again. Saul missed a lifetime and generational opportunity through sin and he never recovered from it.

7. Be Prayerful: The final biblical key for maintaining divine speed that we will be examining in this post is prayer. There is a popular saying in my dialect that both what is good and what isn’t require prayers. The devil is a bad devil, and he is still in the business of going about lying and deceiving people. (John 8:44)

Therefore watch and pray against temptation and every arrow of wickedness. Continue to seek the face of God and your elevation shall be permanent in Jesus name.

  1. I love the story of Joseph and have studied it for years. The concept of divine speed is new to me, but I learned so much. Very insightful post…thank you!

      1. Hi Betty,
Thank you for your zeal and write-up. Grateful to God for you. Keep the zeal and fire 🔥 of the Spirit. May God make you a flame of fire.

    1. Thank you very much for the revelation of Our God – God of Speed. I work in a Ministry where we rescue people that are addicted to alcohol, drugs. Homelessness, prostitution and we are currently building a home for them by the Grace of Him that sent us on this mission with our eyes on Him to provide all things. But I woke up this morning and heard His office saying I am a Good of speed. Immediately I know God is talking about our ministry through me that He will grant us Divine speed in the building project. I do pray one hour daily for the ministry and His voice of I am a God of Divine speed consumed me to pray. I searched the internet and came across your sermon which help me to pray wholeheartedly for God of Divine speed to take over.
I thank the Lord for your ministry and for using you as a vessel in our world.
I believed God of Divine speed has taken over our project work as He did for Elijah and Joseph.
      Shalom! Shalom!!!

  2. I have never heard this type of teaching described as Devine Speed before. Is there a reference to this term in the Bible or have you a reference to other theology books on it?

    1. Yes, there may not have been the term “Divine Speed” in the Bible. But the fact is there and I have proved it with at least the example of Joseph.

And in the previous post, I proved it with the example of the prophet Elijah.

It is not because a word or terminology is not in the Bible that makes it unbiblical. For example, we don’t have the word ‘trinity’ in the Bible, but the concept is there and can be proved.

We don’t have the word “Rapture” in the Bible. But the concept is there. These are just linguistic formations to describe a principle or doctrine we see in the Bible.

      1. I was not questioning it being biblical or unbiblical just asking if it was a term expressed by Theologians that I had not yet heard of. If you do some research you may even find it is talked about by Theologians under a different name.

        1. Bless you Sis Sandra, I love the fact of the understanding that you seek to have. I just desire to add this to this thought if per adventure it will make some sense. I personally would want to add that the word DIVINE SPEED came up to the blogger as word received in knowledge or better still as Rhema which is as a result of the study life maintained.
I suppose this year our close walk with God could result in us hearing and receiving from God. This done we could access the VICTORY available to us as given at Calvary. I particularly I am praying to hear God speak more to me as I read His word. So simply put, our knowledge of our walk is enriched by sharing in the experiences of others as shown in the post. Joshua 1:8 is a refrence that is handy here.God bless you and open us up in our understanding of hearing HIM.

  3. Joseph offers us so much knowledge when we study him. I like your concept of divine speed. Thanks for sharing it.

  4. Thank you for sharing these helpful ideas on maintaining divine speed. I lose momentum at times and long for consistency, to be able to keep my energy up. So grateful I can trust the Lord to give me what I need when I need it!

      1. Praise Jesus I am Peter I am happy for the good job you are doing may the Lord increase you ,I bumped into your site today only to find that we are onthe same theme of the month godly speed under1 kings 18:46 our theme cames from the Lord himself ,the Lord said that this month of Dec he has opened doors for his children for goodly speed ,if only we labour in prayers and step out in faith ,not because of our righteousness only because he is gracious God ,my message to all who will read this message is to act fast because the grace for divine speed has been provided .we been on a tough journey since the begging of this year it was an year of breaking limits ,inthe month of October theme was breaking the walls of Jericho after we had broken the walls of Jericho, then we dealt with the powers of delay ,where by the bible say that God spoke of the children of isreal serving as slaves for 400 yrs but they went for 430 yrs ,there was a staggering 30 yrs of delay ,not that God lied powers put them only delay owing to the fact that they seemed okay in Egypt to an extent of intermarrying against the word of the Lord ,so the powers put them in delay ,very many children of God are in delay it will only benefit one who will discern this season and step out in faith .
