103 Reasons To Be Grateful This Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving day approaches, I wanted to take a moment to outline some reasons we can be grateful.

It’s so easy to look at our lives and feel like there’s nothing to be grateful for this thanksgiving. But I tell you there’s a lot if only we can spend some time reflecting. Reflect on God’s goodness, faithfulness, mercy, love, grace, peace, joy, and blessings amongst others.

They are uncountable but I have collated 103 reasons to be thankful this Thanksgiving.

Matter of fact Thanksgiving day shouldn’t be the only day we will thank God in a year.

What the Bible Says About Thanksgiving

As Christians, we ought to cultivate an attitude of gratitude because the bible commands us to give thanks always.

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV

The bible passage above enjoins us to rejoice always, pray ceaselessly and give thanks in everything because it is God’s will for us.
Everything means everything, it means under no circumstance should we be sullen and ungrateful. Yet how often we forget this biblical injunction.
How often have you looked around you and felt dissatisfied with your life, happenings around you or your loved ones? I also have fallen short severally, but thank God for His grace and mercy.

Why We Should Give Thanks Regardless Of Our Situation

Before we think about the things we don’t have, or what God hasn’t done, or how unfair life is, let’s be grateful for life. Because God is the giver of life. (Genesis 2:7)

“… the Creator of the heavens,  who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth  with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people,  and life to those who walk on it:” Isaiah 42:5 (NIV)

God has spared our lives, therefore we should be grateful for this. Well, you may ask, what is the essence of life without all the things you desire?

And I will respond with the bible verse below;

Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! Ecclesiastes 9:4 (NIV)

Did you read that?

It means when there is life, there is hope, and your situation can change positively if you hold firm to your faith.

My post on biblical examples of answered prayers is proof that there is hope.

Without much ado, below are 103 things to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. The list is endless but I believe before you finish going through it, gratitude will well up in your heart.

Let me quickly say that the list has been written in no particular order.
