It Is Time For a Destiny Shift!

Are you broken, in pain, afflicted, suffering, bitter, financially distressed, barren, in shame, and more?  I decree in Jesus name that it is time for a destiny shift in your life and/or that of your loved ones.

The God who granted Ruth a destiny shift from lack and poverty to wealth will grant you a destiny shift. As He did for Joseph and made his destiny shift from that of a slave to that of a prime minister in Egypt. And did for David by making his destiny shift from that of a shepherd boy to king.

That same God is still alive and can cause your destiny to shift in a positive direction.

And therefore I prophesy that it is time for a destiny shift to those who desire a change!

In the previous post, we examined the question of whether destiny can change or not and discovered that it can. We discovered that our choices can affect our destiny just as it affected the destiny of the Israelites despite being loved by God. Click the above link to read the post.

In this post, we will review how our choices can affect our destiny and an example of someone who had a destiny shift.

We Each Have a Part to Play in Our Destiny

We each have a part to play in our destiny. As unbelievable as that sounds, it is true and that is why the Bible said; I place before you life and death…

19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live Deuteronomy 30:19 (NIV)

So we have a part to play, God has given us the free will to make our choice. We can either choose life and live or choose death and …

The choices we make will either propel us into God’s good destiny for us or alter the course of our destiny. May our destiny not be negatively altered in Jesus name.

Prayer: Father Lord, please prevent me from making any choice that will negatively alter my destiny in Jesus name. And if peradventure I’ve already made such a choice, please help me to retrace my steps.

biblical example of someone who had a destiny shift - Ruth

We can either choose life through Jesus Christ or we can choose the way of the world and satisfy our flesh. Our choices will affect our destiny.

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:20-21 (NKJV)

The above Bible verses clearly show that we have a choice to make, to be sanctified and useful, or remain unuseful. The choice is ours.

Biblical Example of Someone Who Had a Destiny Shift – Ruth

I bet we all know the story of Ruth in the bible. One of the things she’s known by is that she followed her mother-in-law to Israel. Another thing is that she is an ancestor of our Lord Jesus Christ.

She didn’t become an ancestor of Jesus Christ by chance, her choice shifted her destiny for good.

When she made the choice to return with her mother-in-law to Israel, she experienced a destiny shift.

Her destiny shifted from obscurity to limelight, from poverty to wealth, from being a widow to being a wife.  And from childlessness to becoming a joyful mother, and to become an ancestor of Jesus Christ.

All these happened because she decided to pitch her tent with the living God.

16 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.” Ruth 1:16 – 17 (NIV)

In my place when they want to abuse a clingy wife, they nickname her Ruth because Ruth was the one who went all the way with her mother-in-law even after her husband died.

They say it in a derogatory manner but Ruth was a wise woman who knew when to turn and change direction.

Ruth was wise enough to realize that her father’s idols couldn’t save, deliver, or give her an inheritance among the saints.

She knew when to shift lane, family, and country and she did so gracefully.

Ruth's destiny shifted from obscurity to limelight, from poverty to wealth, from being a widow to being a wife.  And from childlessness to becoming a joyful mother, and to becoming an ancestor of Jesus Christ. #destinyshift #destiny… Click To Tweet

The Truth is We All Need God

Ruth was a virtuous woman who shunned all lies and faced the truth.

What was the truth? She needed God and she knew it!

There was no shame in her game and she boldly declared her intentions to her mother-in-law. Saying, where you go I will go, where you live I will live, and where you die, I will be buried.

From then on, God bore her on eagles wings. God became her God and He set creation in motion to shift her destiny. Hallelujah!

Her destiny was shifted to become an ancestor of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Today, there’s no way you will mention Jesus’s lineage that Ruth’s name will not be mentioned. (Matthew 1:5)

Do You Want a Destiny Shift? It’s Time!

How hard would it have been for Ruth to forsake the land of her nativity, her people, parents, and friends?

But she gained it all in Jehovah the great and mighty God under whose wings she took refuge.

What do you need to shift from today?

In what way do you need to change?

Will you be brave like Ruth or will you let the fear of the unknown hold you back?

Come to Jesus today, His saving grace is from everlasting to everlasting and He will give you a brand new start.

He will rewrite your story and change your destiny like He did for Ruth.

Prayer: Lord Jesus I come to you today, give me a brand new start, change my destiny as you did for Ruth, and for everyone who follows you. Henceforth, help me to make the right decisions oh Lord.

  1. Powerful words and prayers! I like it. I’ve been enjoying your destiny series. There is hope for changing your destiny, with God!

    1. Thanks Dani! Yes, there is hope for changing your destiny with God. A fact I didn’t have time to include in the post is that Moabites are banned from entering the assembly of God’s people, yet Ruth found favor with God and is mentioned with our Messiah.

3 No Ammonite or Moabite or any of their descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD, not even in the tenth generation. Deuteronomy 23:3

  2. I loved this. Ruth changed her destiny because she chose to put her fate in God’s hands. Great, inspirational post.

  3. I’m so thankful that God changed my destiny at 13 years old! I am no longer on my way to an eternal hell, but instead on my way to live forever in Heaven with my Savior! 🙌🏼 The story of Ruth is a favorite for me. She made her choice and stuck by it, committed to the God of Israel and to her mother-in-law.

    1. Praise God for this wonderful testimony. I got saved at the age of 16 years when I was almost at hell’s gate.
But the mercy of God delivered me, it’s high time I shared my testimony.

  4. This is what people need right now. It’s time we focus on God’s calling for our lives and leave the flesh behind. Thank you for the encouragement!

  7. I love this! God has been teaching me through the years to choose life by the words I speak, since our words form our lives. I am learning to come into agreement with God and speak life over myself, other people and my situation. God is so good to us. Thank you sweet sister … ❤

  8. Wow! Great presentation of how destinies can change, simple, straighforward, eye opening! Thank you Betty, may God continue to use you mightily
