Crown of Glory and Royal Diadem in God’s Hands

A crown of glory and a royal diadem in God’s Hands. This is God’s plan and promise to us, to make us His showpiece.

3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Isaiah 62:3 KJV

When we examine crowns and diadems, we will discover that they are always beautiful to behold. They are also similar in that they are both adornments for the head of the king or queen. And they complete the king and queen’s dressing. Therefore, real and expensive crowns and diadems are readily available in the palace.

What Does it Mean to be a Crown of Glory and Royal Diadem?

The crown or diadem is meant for the head, the seat of all intellect. No one will have a crown or diadem and wear it on their feet.

More so, the crown of glory or the royal diadem is not meant for ordinary heads. Because the scripture clearly distinguishes the crown and diadem, qualifying them with adjectives to show that they are glorious and royal.

This is important because these days anyone can procure a crown. But a crown of glory and a royal diadem is only meant for the king’s head. In the same vein, crowns and diadems are not thrown carelessly around. They are handled with care because they are precious.

And because crowns and diadems belong to royalty, anyone that touches them accords them the respect of their owner. The owner is the king.

Like I stated in my about me page, I see myself in the above scripture.

No king has ever had an ugly crown or diadem, and even if it’s ugly, the glory of the king covers it. So that the ugliness is overshadowed by the splendor and royalty of the king.

So, we are God’s Royal Diadem, and we are beautiful in God’s hands.

God Wants to Beautify Our Lives

God’s plan is to beautify us and make us a show case of His glory;

for like the jewels of a crown they shall shine on his land” Zechariah 9:16b ESV

He wants us to shine and bring Him glory and honor. For when a crown or diadem is beautiful, it is an honor to the king who owns it.

They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Malachi 3:17 ESV

As a royal diadem, we are God’s treasured possession and He cares about us so much that He promised to spare us.

He will spare us from evil and from all manner of calamities.

Criteria for Becoming God’s Crown of Glory and Royal diadem

Seek Forgiveness of Sins

The first criteria for becoming a crown of glory and royal diadem in God’s hands is to purge ourselves from sin.

Because God’s eyes are too pure to behold evil and iniquity Habakkuk 1:13

To be able to approach God’s throne, our hands and heart must be pure.

Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. Psalms 24:3-4 ESV

And the scripture has rightly stated that all our righteousness is as filthy rags before the God.

We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. Isaiah 64:6 ESV

criteria for becoming God's crown of glory and royal diadem

Because we have sinned and fallen short of His glory;

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23 ESV

The first step therefore is to seek God’s forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. And accept God’s free gift of salvation for all men and women.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, Ephesians 1:7 ESV

After seeking and receiving His forgiveness, the next phase is sanctification.

Read this post to learn more about how to obtain God’s mercy and forgiveness.

We shall continue from here next time. In the next post, we shall look at sanctification and the benefit of living a sanctified life using Joseph as a case study.

  9. Hello Betty
You such a mouth piece of the Lord.
I had a burden to kick start a Single Ladies Forum in my local church and as I was asking the Lord what the name should be and how to go about it, the Holy Spirit called THE ROYAL DIADEM in my spirit.

And so I started looking out for what it means to be a Royal DIADEM and I bombed into your post.

I can assure you that it blessed my heart and inspired me alot on my mission. I love the way you gracefully choose you words and it drove home the intent of the Lord for that passage in Isaiah 63:3.

I’m looking forward to the continuation of the post may God bless you richly in all wisdom.
